Concert LD to Architectural LD - A Career Change - presented by Stefan Graf and Charles Thompson

Stefan has received over 52 International Lighting Design Awards in architecture and will reveal his 'secrets' to getting started on a career path in architectural lighting design. Charles Thompson is founder and president of ARCHILLUME and a member of the AIA. Data Deletion - presented by PERG

Description of Subject:

The widespread adoption of memory cards and other media devices for image capture and transfer has brought with it inevitable changes in the way camera technicians, camera rental houses and post houses perform their work. We now live in a world where, when a production returns the camera equipment, they may also be sending the rental house their images, sound and other proprietary data. In fact, some rental houses report that 80-90% of the time, the storage has not been reformatted or erased. This raises important new questions: What are the liability implications for rental houses when they accept equipment that still contains the client's stored data? What are the best practices for data deletion? When is it alright to delete data? Who should delete it? What has to be done to truly delete the data? In the face of these questions PERG has taken the lead in assembling a committee of industry experts to come to agreement about how to best protect data assets. In this one-hour discussion our panel will walk participants through the greater implications of using data storage devices. This seminar is a must for producers, camera technicians, and rental house employees alike.Speakers: Marc Stephens, Tom Fletcher, Leigh Blicher.
