Description of Subject:

High-resolution pixel mapping represents the latest advancement in video technology for live entertainment and installations. This course will explore VideoMapper™, PixelMapper™, UberPan™, and other industry-leading features of Hippotizer™, America’s favorite media server. Instructor: Tim Nauss is a Product Specialist and Trainer for TMB. He is currently based out of LA and conducts Hippo School training seminars for programmers interested in Hippotizer Media Servers. Tim studied Design and Technical Theatre at Christopher Newport University in Virginia and has extensive design experience in theatre and concert productions.

Description of Subject:

Sustainability in the entertainment industry is more important than ever. There are many great resources available to tap into both in the US and in Europe. Broadway Green Alliance (BGA) has helped many theatres on Broadway and around the world improve their sustainable practices. Charles Deull, co-chair of the BGA, will explore the common approaches and differences between groups such as Julie’s Bicycle, the Broadway Green Alliance, and The Center for Sustainable Practices, as well as talk about the newest alliance, the International Green Theatre Alliance.

Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater is a state-of-the-art live music venue with a capacity of more than 2,700. It is the new home of the KLRU-TV produced PBS program Austin City Limits, the longest running music series in American television history. In addition, the venue hosts 60 to 100 concerts a year. Join Lighting Designer Walter Olden, Production Manager Billy Heaslip, and Lighting Consultant William Strother for a discussion on the challenges, opportunities, joys, and heartaches of designing the lighting and technical systems.

Lighting designer Peter Morse has lit the biggest stars from Barbra Streisand, Bette Midler and Madonna to Usher, Prince, Christina Aguilera, Janet Jackson, and Michael Jackson. But his approach is unique and his style all his own. Perhaps that's because of the way he started in the business, as a singer/songwriter/recording artist, or just because he's an artist of a different stripe.
